  3. Skip the newspaper. Newspaper is commonly used to wrap fragile items. But since the items will be left in the storage unit for awhile, the ink from the paper can bleed onto them and ruin them. You should instead use bubble wrap to protect your inventory.
  4. Create an inventory. Never place an item in the storage unit without first documenting its presence there. Remember, the items in storage are part of your business and you will need to account for them during audits and other procedural checks.
